Barriers to consumption

There are 4 barriers to people accessing your learning support – cost, access, time and skill.

The most successful consumer innovations create new markets because they target non-consumers. They tap into the people who can’t or won’t use competitors’ products. They’re the people who can’t afford your courses. They can’t get sign off to attend. They’re time-poor and want to personalise their choice of product. They can’t use your systems because they’re too complex.

From a learning delivery perspective, it simply means all you have to do is make your learning content free at point of use, easy to access across all devices, available at any time in individually selectable chunks and to anyone without pre-qualification.

If it’s that easy, why don’t we do it?
