Connecting

A couple of weeks back from holidays and I’m enjoying the opportunities to reconnect and re-engage with people. It’s always been something I’ve enjoyed but much more since becoming an independent consultant; not having a working team ‘tribe’ means I need to craft and maintain my own.

One thing I have noticed is how I want to get more face to face connections in the calendar. It’s ‘almost’ as if spending a couple of weeks disengaged from digital meetings and spending time one to one in the real world has changed my perspective on things.

Being able to host the recent Learning Network social in London validated this even further. The Learning Network will be putting more regular meetups into the calendar, probably quarterly, to help people engage.

There is, of course, another place to meet people face to face, and that’s at the Learning Network Connect 2023 event in November this year. Having the opportunity to hear from some really smart people – Michelle Parry-Slater and Steve Wheeler are keynoting – there are active sessions to meet, engage, chat, and speak with people from across the learning profession.

Tickets ARE limited and you don’t have to be a member of the Learning Network to attend. They’re also REALLY good value and a good investment by your managers in your personal development.

If you’re planning to attend, please let me know – it’d be great to book out some time with my connections and spend time with people I’ve not met before.
