My name isn’t especially difficult to pronounce – I do hear different variations occasionally, most usually my forename being shortened to Andy*.

There are now countless tools to help people pronounce names correctly; LinkedIn has an option to upload a recording and I recently found Namedrop where you can upload a recording which anyone can access to listen to how your name is pronounced.

There is no excuse not to use someone’s name correctly and the onus is on the person who is saying it, not the individual whose name it is.

*Fo information, I REALLY dislike being called Andy.
