There was some research published last week that over three quarters of podcast listeners binge listen to content. This increases to over 90% when people listen to fiction podcasts.

Why?

People become engaged with the story and want to learn more. Think about this when you’re chunking down content into small elements:

  • Maintain the narrative, making sure every element is able to work with every other
  • Make sure there’s obvious and relevant links from one part to the next
  • Leave each part with clear direction the next part is a ‘must do’
  • Incorporate emotion – stories which evoke emotions are more likely to be memorable.
  • Clearly demonstrate how the stories are bedded in real-world situations

People want to learn about people’s stories; embed learning into other people’s stories and people won’t even know they’re learning.
