I like listening to DnB DJs – they can take a range of different songs, beats and melodies and assemble them in a way which the crowd want and need. They respond to the crowd energy and choose what to show them, at a time of their choosing.
There is a range of skills needed. Knowing what’s happening, knowing what’s next, matching the pace and cadence, breaking the rhythm when necessary.
Be a L&D DJ. You know what’s good, popular, but also what people will be surprised with. Curate something which connects with people at an emotional level and keeps them engaged as you shift from part to part over the whole time they are with you.
