10 years

A bicycle chain is arranged to form the number "10" on a brown background, with the text "10 YEARS" in stylized letters on the side.

I’ve mentioned before the Power of 10 approach we use to evaluation and measurement – 10 day, 10 week, 10 month intervals where we seek out the outputs, outcomes and impacts from your learning activity.

I was playing with some thinking on a train the other day and wondered what this would look like from a planning and preview place, rather than a reflective and review perspective.

For example:

  • In 10 days time, what are the biggest challenges in stopping you achieving your goals?
  • In 10 weeks time, what will those goals look like?
  • In 10 months time, what will your targets and plans be?
  • In 10 years time, what is your aspiration and how are you moving towards it?

These are still random thoughts but wondering what, and how, they might relate to the problems we’re having in managing L&D priorities right now.
