Everyone is an expert on something. Few are an expert on many things.

Even fewer are experts on football. I was at a game on Saturday and there was a man (obviously) who was yelling out opinions on how one team should play which were demonstrably wrong.

I know this because my son is a football expert. Aside from playing it since he could walk (seriously the first thing he did was kick a ball and hasn’t ever stopped), he’s currently at university studying sports science and football coaching. He knows more about football than I do and is trusted to coach others because of his understanding and experience. I trust my son’s opinion on football and go to him for his expertise.

We need to remember that in work – sometimes the expert will be the quiet one, the younger one, the one who doesn’t yell their opinion. Find these experts.
