In March, Reijula and Hertwig published a behavioural theory science paper about the use of self-nudges in building citizen choice. They came up with 4 specific approaches which make it easier for people to adopt new ways of behaviour:
- Use reminders and prompts
- Choose a different framing
- Make it easier to do the things we want to do
- Use social pressure and self-commitments to increase accountability
As I’ve mentioned before, building the environment for people to choose to learn is the most effective way that LnD can build engagement and connection with their colleagues.
