I mentioned that the team I’d been working with at Test and Trace had done good work. Well, they put in for an award and have been shortlisted.

I’ve never been one for entering awards; I’m happy to judge others efforts and recognise great performance but never thought it was something I should do.

What I’ve realised now is that being independent, it’s more important than ever to be recognised for good work – who knows what you’ve done if you don’t tell people.
