I talk about user generated content a bit and the usual question that comes back from SMEs and L&D teams is – but what if it isn’t good enough?
User generated content is always good enough; it was good enough for the user and will, by design, be raw, authentic and genuine. It’s not good enough to meet ‘your’ expectations but it’s real; real content, made by real people and, as such, has enormous influence.
Learn to compromise – good enough is good enough and if you’re creating hurdles and barriers to entry you’ll just be seen as getting in the way and less relevant to the people wanting to do the job. If that happens, how many people will come back to you for something learning related?
