I saw a report on student engagement in higher education the other day:
More than half of faculty members say they prefer face-to-face classes over hybrid or online delivery, but nearly seven in 10 students say they prefer an instructional model with at least some virtual component. Three-quarters of students favor digital course materials over print, while professors are split 50-50. And 60 percent of faculty instructors opt to send students to the traditional bookstore as their primary method of course material access, though barely 15 percent of students say they prefer to purchase new print materials.
Student and Faculty Perspectives on Digital Learning Differ
I wonder what the split would be in the workplace.
More importantly when did you ask?
That is very subjective. Colleagues often quite like “a day out of the office” if its is in the same vicinity, but the popularity drops sharply if it involves a lot of travelling, early starts, overnight stays etc.
I also wonder how many delegates do not favour online delivery because, to be frank, the tutors and trainers are not very good at delivering online. Too many simply try to replicate their face-to-face materials and delivery whilst online, which does not work !
