I heard the following in the space of one day last week…
- Leadership is dead.
- Leadership is thriving.
- Office work is coming back.
- More people than ever want to work remotely.
- Face to face is essential for human connection.
- Online is the best place to start conversations.
- eLearning is dead.
- Face to face learning is dead.
- Podcasts are dying.
- Podcasts are thriving.
- Uniforms in schools are essential to set you up for work.
- Informal dress codes at work should apply in school.
The people who said them believe them to be true, so who am I to argue?
I find myself pro work at home, no uniform etc. What I perceive to be the difference is a need for control, and building justifications to support your argument for needing control. There are also personal preferences that vary; however when a company deems one way only…it’s usually control and lack of trust. It speaks to their individual needs and fears, not the employees or the students best interests or productivity.
