Look at them all

I used to write short posts when I saw women being excluded from panels, events etc. and calling it out seemed to make a difference. This week, however, has been exceptional. Some of the things I’ve seen and experienced include:

The panel at an event whose only nod diversity was that two of the 6 white men on the panel wore glasses. Or that 4 of the 6 white men had the name Matthew, or a derivative (e.g. Matt), in their name.

The panel invitation where I would be one of five men and, when asked how the vendors would balance it, withdrew my invitation to ‘make space for a woman’.

The post by a man which had a few images attached to it. When they were uploaded to LinkedIn, we lost the fact the only woman in the picture was wearing an AI headset because the way the picture cropped just highlighted her chest.

The webinar about the menopause where there were over 500 attendees and I think I might have been the only man there.

As we heard on the Sexism One of the Women Talking About Learning podcast, there’s a lack of education and understanding across the piece on this.

Be better.
