Learning tastes

Two blog posts last week from Seth Godin resonated with me. The first explains how there are facts and they underpin everything; you have preference and tastes but they need to be in conjunction with basic facts.

The second highlights how people like to watch to learn. As Godin rightly points out:

…there are two uncomfortable pedagogical methods that lead to better learning outcomes:
Doing it poorly on the way to doing it better
Engaging with others in mutual support and exploration

“I don’t learn that way” – Seth Godin

You may have tastes and preferences in how you learn but the facts are clear; you will learn better through practice and reflecting with other people.
