Keys for locks

The image shows a close-up photograph of a key ring with multiple metal keys on it, placed on what appears to be a wooden surface. The text overlay reads "KEYS FOR LOCKS" in a bold, stylized font, with "KEYS FOR" in an outlined style and "LOCKS" in solid white letters.

I heard an incredibly sad story on the news the other day about a woman whose home had been destroyed in the LA fires. She described at in a way which really struck a chord – she now has a set of keys to locks which no longer exist.

It forced me to reflect on how many keys I still have for locks which aren’t there any more. I went through a keyring and realised I had a key to a padlock for a gate to a car park which I hadn’t used in 25+ years. I couldn’t ever use the key or car park again – the car park was now covered with a block of flats.

Look at your skills and ways of working; which are still on your keyring that are now obsolete? Which keys need to be redrawn and re-cut?
