It’s been hot in the UK this summer – we’re on our third heatwave and I’ve lost count of how many ice cubes I’ve gone through.

I’ve got two options:

▪️ Buy a bag of ice. Quick, convenient, works immediately…but expensive and disposable.
▪️ Use the large silicone moulds I have at home. Slower and takes a bit more thought, but better value, reusable, and cheaper in the long run.

It’s a lot like performance solutions at work.

You can buy in something which looks like it does the job but, when all is said and done, you are left with a non-recyclable plastic bag and a receipt.

Or you can invest in something sustainable. The quality intervention shifts your culture, makes you think about your behaviour, brings new systems in, and might shift your relationships with other people.
