
I saw something interesting a few weeks ago. A company was exhibiting at an event and to drive awareness they thought it would be a good idea to respond to every post on LinkedIn about their sector.
Replying to every post with a mention of their company. 😬
I get why. They want to raise awareness with the people posting and engage some influencers. It seems reasonable to engage people that way.
What happens is that the whole audience in that sector sees them commenting on every post and effectively spamming their product name across the sector.
Broadcast is easy.
Engagement is hard.
True connection is hardest.
