Too often managers ask for training as an afterthought, and, since L&D haven't been involved in the design, it fails. In the long run…

Eating the elephant has never been an analogy I can relate to. I much prefer running metaphors. The long run is nothing more than a series of short ones. Knowing how many short runs there are and the pace you need to run at is how you need to plan.
