Someone asked me the other day if they could pick my brains.

Are they really asking for a wander through my thoughts in the hope of finding some value? Or are they asking for confirmation of an opinion? Some inspiration? A level of insight? A question to affirm your confidence in them?

Don’t just download stuff when you get asked if your brains can be picked, however flattering it might be. You will save both you, and the person asking, a lot of time if you ask the why first.
