Just over 5 years ago I wrote a blog post which received silly numbers of reads and comments. It’s still the most read post on here and I’m asked about it regularly.
I was flattered by the feedback it received and, following a few suggestions, set about translating the post into a book. A few chapters down, life took over and I stopped writing. The folder with the draft remained untouched for a long time. However, with thanks to friends and colleagues, I’ve re-opened it and am writing again. I don’t have anyone to publish it; I may not publish it at all.
I’d forgotten how hard it is to write. It is, however, a genuinely satisfying activity.
I’ve no idea what it might mean with respect to this blog and my daily routine. Writing daily has helped provide me with a focus and discipline to write. How I’ll fit in both will be fun to see.
I feel genuinely excited for you – one of my bucket list things is to write and publish something one day that people might find useful or enjoyable.
And if you’re ever lacking momentum, there is a (select appropriate collective noun) of L&D practitioners out here whose raison d’etre is encouraging and challenging people to keep on with things!
What would that collective noun be, I wonder? Empath? Persistence? Potential?
