We often use the word ignorance when we talk about people who choose to ignore advice and guidance. A better word is amathia.
Its meaning is disputed but is more about wilful blindness, and has been defined as the opposite of wisdom.
Ignorance is not knowing; Amathia is not learning. It’s OK to be ignorant – it’s not OK to be amathic.

Reminds me of misology & agnotology. “Misology is the fear or hatred of knowledge, rational thought and argumentation. Agnotology is the cultural production of ignorance. Both problems seem to be getting worse.”
