If you haven’t got experience in delivering webinars and online training, don’t just assume you can do it. For many people in learning they’re now an expected channel but requires a different skill set from ‘traditional’ training.
There are a range of factors which are different from face to face. As much as the technology is different, your behaviour has to change; using names more, signposting where you are, speaking slower, simpler slides, working with a host, etc.
These are new core skills for people delivering learning activity – treat them seriously.
Obviously I agree, as this is my specialism! I’m so glad to have someone point out some of the differences. You can definitely still use your skills and personality, but this is a different modality!

I didn’t know that we’d been supporting online learning for so long. And that makes the fact someone doesn’t have the skills to deliver it a little more worrying…
