I rarely watch TV, let alone live commercial TV. When I do, I get frustrated by the fact that I can’t whizz through the interruptions to the things that are entertaining me.

I do the same with podcasts – I’ll listen to podcasts of radio programmes rather than the radio itself so I can fast forward through the adverts and sponsorship.

The same happens in the workplace. If people don’t know that you’ll be creating space to pause, market, switch and change the activity, you’ll get the same reaction from me and many others.
