In them thar hills

I was talking curation a few weeks ago with Amber Hyde at the Charity Learning Consortium. We talked through aggregating, sifting and filtering and Amber said this:

It’s like panning for gold; with experience you recognise the few worthwhile nuggets.

AMBER HYDE

Knowing which rivers are gold heavy, knowing which tools to use – the fineness of the sieve, etc, the Fool’s Gold, and so on are the skills of the good curator.

Go and speak to people who curate well; they’re less likely to want to hide the gold for themselves.
