I’m rubbish at warming up before I run. I rarely take the time to stretch and prepare for the distance I’m going to do. I know I should but it seems like a chore.
The first days back for many people after the Christmas break will feel like we’re required to dive in and get to it immediately. Those several dozen/hundred emails will be sitting there, sending a siren’s song to lure you onto a rock of distraction.
Take your time. Reconnect with people and use the time this week to plan ahead and to work out what’s ‘really’ urgent and not just respond to what’s just marked urgent at a sender’s behest.
