
I see lots of people using the phrase ‘soft skills’ to try and describe the key skills someone needs to be able to do as a minimum for a job. It was interesting to see the Singapore Government label these as Critical Core Skills.
- They’re critical because they cause failures.
- They’re core because they’re central to pretty much any role in the workplace.
- They’re skills because they describe abilities which can be trained or learnt.
I think I’ll be using this phrase in the future.
