I was running a session yesterday on strategic workforce planning with a number of people from different NHS trusts and ICs from across England.

Halfway through an exercise where we were looking at the supply pipeline and factors which would affect recruitment, I received a notification that an offer had been made to junior doctors. One of the earlier elements we’d spoken about was to make your planning an iterative process and here we were, immediately thinking of the effects and impacts on the planning process.

Making sure your learning support is up to date is critical. In addition to adding credibility to your work, you are creating currency which is MUCH harder to do in other ways. Think about your offer – how current is it and how do you respond to swift and unexpected changes?
