Automate the routine

There are certain things which I automate and save myself hours of time – aggregating content, publishing blog posts, preparing audio, creating alt tags for images, summarising datasets etc.

This is where AI is in a brilliant place to help us. To take on board the dull and routine activity which we don’t want (or need) to do and complete those tasks for us. It raises a few questions of course:

  • Which activities could you outsource to AI?
  • How will the AI access all the context necessary to complete the paperwork?
  • Will the work involved in making that context accessible to the AI offset any productivity gains?

What I’m seeing is a shift towards moving the good stuff – content creation, ideation, creative thinking – to AI tools.

Is it any wonder it feels like a threat?
