My grandson is now six months old. He’s really communicative, making noises as if talking to us and ‘singing’ along with us when we sing to him.
When he’s in his bouncer he get annoyed after a while. He starts making noises and, since he can’t get the message out, gets louder. When he’s not engaged with, he gets louder again, until we have to speak to him and work out what’s wrong. Just saying the same thing louder works for him; he doesn’t have the language skills to communicate any other way.
Are you using your language skills to get your message out there, or just shouting louder?
I think I have the opposite reaction – if I’m failing to communicate, I sometimes just go silent!
