I’ve been putting this off for a while.
You might have noticed (as I have) that I’ve been posting about the same things and the repetition is even getting to me. Each day I stare at the screen, wondering what I’m going to write what I’m going to say and even if I have anything left to say.
And lately, the answer feels like: not much.
This daily posting thing – it’s been a habit, a compulsion, and often a joy over the last six and a half years. But recently, it’s started to feel more like a burden than a practice. The well’s not dry exactly, but it’s definitely looking a little silty. So I’ve made a decision.
As of today, I’m stopping. No more daily posts. No more dredging the bottom of the well at weird times of the day. No more wondering if anyone’s reading, or if I’m just shouting into the algorithmic void.
I’m done.
It’s been a good run. Time to rest. To step away. To leave the keyboard alone.
Maybe I’ll come back. Maybe not.
Thanks for reading.
Take care of yourselves.
Be kind.
Also…Happy April 1st and see you all again tomorrow!
Oh my gosh, you totally got me….. was coming on to comment and say how gutted I was and wasn’t ready to say goodbye!!! phew!

Please don’t go! Or if you go, please come back again! Your silence is not golden, but your voice for doing this thing called learning well sure is!

I believed that until I got to the last line, because blogging five days a week is actually quite a big undertaking and takes a good deal of time and energy. I really appreciate your efforts and would understand if you decided to make it two or three days per week.
Weekday mornings would not be the same without cornflakes, coffee, toast and your blog !
Incidentally, it is strange how that blog seems to have generated a record number of comments.

There’s been LOADS of reaction on LinkedIn too and some lovely messages from people who REALLY don’t want me to stop! It does the heart good to feel appreciated.
