I’ll not be watching the England World Cup semi-final on Wednesday. Not because I don’t want to but because I’ll be watching System of a Down live for the first time.

I’ll be with my eldest son, and we could have swerved the gig to watch the game, but he’s not really a football fan; he is a massive music fan, and the tickets were for his birthday.

I’d got the tickets for him, and a promise made is a promise I keep. If England lose, I won’t have missed anything. If they win, I’ll get to watch the final. Either way I’ll have a great afternoon and evening with my son.

The priority isn’t the event. It’s the time together.
