I heard a really interesting piece recently about how we perceive time.
For a 2-year-old, a year is half their life.
When you’re 20, a year is roughly 5% of your lifetime.
Over 50, a year accounts for less than 2% of your life.
It’s one reason we perceive time moving faster as we get older and why all summers were long and hot when we were kids.
I mention this today because it is the date of both my eldest son’s 31st birthday and my 35th wedding anniversary.
As Earth, Wind and Fire so brilliantly predicted a few years earlier:
Our hearts were ringin’
In the key that our souls were singing’
As we danced in the night, remember
How the stars stole the night away, oh, yeah
