I keep hearing it’s a trait which matters and people tell me I’m authentic but I’m not quite sure what it is.
I show up and am present – is that authentic?
Is it keeping promises and meeting expectations?
Is it being the same person here, online on other platforms and in real life?
When someone asks you to help them be more authentic, can you ever help them learn that?
Good provocation. To me, it’s another jargony word bandied around in corporate circles. Do you use it outside of work?
No. But outside of work I’m 100% me – perhaps that’s the essence of authenticity?
Nice. If we substitute ‘real’ for ‘authentic’, I’ve met and worked with some authentic *rs*h*l*s.
