Back to it after a few weeks R&R (voluntary and enforced) and conversations about learning are getting stuck in the data paradox again.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago and Laura Overton is asking again what we need to do.

First might be to understand what data is…

• Data becomes information.
• Information becomes knowledge
• Knowledge becomes wisdom
• Wisdom informs insight
• Insight guides data collection

LnD need to stop just capturing data. Does LnD have the wisdom to understand the data they’re expected to have to critically assess. If not, algorithms will start doing that, and further obsolescence awaits.
