Calling it out

I hate doing this but I’ve got to call out a company for truly awful service.

Step forward Hermes, the courier firm.

I won’t go into details of the what and the how – it’s a typical story of missed deliveries, forged signatures and lack of contact. What makes it worse is how they manage their Twitter account.

I was annoyed with a fraudulent delivery and posted a Tweet, When I’ve tweeted about poor service in the past, organisations have responded pretty immediately. This time I was to be disappointed. I did a trawl through their Twitter feed and it seems they will respond to you if:

  • You have a blue tick
  • You have more than 5k followers
  • You are a reporter
  • You are a TV or radio producer
  • You are a TV or radio director
  • You are a comedian
  • You are a c-suite recruitment agency
  • You are a theatre director
  • You are a celebrity
  • You are an actor
  • You are a politician

For an organisation which aims to ‘… treat everybody with dignity and respect ‘. That’s missing the mark by a mile – the ‘final mile’ according to Hermes.

Maybe they can afford to treat people like this; I don’t think there are enough people in the list above to keep their business running though.
