I use a lot of self-talk; I always have since I was little and that means I hear a lot of voices.
There’s the doubter who challenges everything I do. Always asking if that’s right, why I think that and who says so.
There’s the professional who tells me I’m in control and managing.
There’s the showman who congratulates me and looks for the showstopper in everything.
There’s the oddball who makes stupid and surreal connections between things in the world.
That’s only a few of the voices I hear – there are so many more.
In lockdown, knowing how to channel the voices I hear into the voice I speak, is the most important thing I’ve learnt.
