Ethics, culture and integrity

I’ve been thinking about the relationship between these 3 elements recently and were further stoked by speaking with Julian Stodd.

From an LnD perspective, these elements each have layers of influence over the things we do and the relationship between them will determine what we do – or more accurately – don’t do. In the current times, the relationship between them is more strained than ever as organisations choose (because it is a choice) to act ethically. Simply look at how organisations are reacting to returning to communal working spaces.

It feels uncomfortable to have to choose between different ethical lenses and your choice will be shaped by the culture that you are part of. All these will define what the ‘right’ thing to do is. Whether you have the integrity to do what is ‘right’ is fundamental to how you’re perceived.
