Understanding data

I was recently contacted about joining a business networking group. I looked through their website and they’re ‘re-launching’ so thought I’d see how successful they’d been before.

A quick check and it was clear they’ve been mothballed for a couple of years so it looked promising they were planning to get going again. More interesting was to look through their success stories published a couple of years ago – small case studies of how different businesses had benefitted from their membership.

Of the 12 organisations who had been featured, 10 were no longer trading.

It doesn’t matter how many events you’ve held, how happy people have felt, or how good the refreshments were if your purpose hasn’t been met.

Tell me again, why are you running those training courses?
