White space, also known as “negative space,” is empty space around content and functional elements of a page, slide, piece of content. It creates space for the content to stand out and allow it to ‘breathe’.

What white space do you have in your data collection for learning?

  • Who isn’t engaging with the content, platform, activity?
  • Who isn’t telling you what they think about it?
  • Who isn’t engaging with your platform and content?
  • Where are people finding out what to learn if they’re not coming through you.

White space in design is essential to make the work balanced, relevant and connected.
