Train some culture

There’s a video doing the rounds on social media of the CEO of MillerKnoll – a American company that produces office furniture, equipment, and home furnishings – telling their employees they shouldn’t ‘live in pity city’ because they didn’t get a bonus. She, however, did receive a bonus which seems to have been over US$1m.

I’m not going to go into the ins and outs of bonuses and the like but want to approach this from a corporate learning and development perspective.

If you worked in LnD in this organisation, how are you going to approach the next bit of work you’re asked to do about ‘workplace culture’. It’s common now for LnD to want to be more than training so what’s your approach going to be if your senior comes to you and asks you to create something to improve employee engagement?

Similarly, if you were a consultant, would you be willing to take a bit of work on like this?

I’m really interested in your thoughts.
