Blogging daily and re-posting on LinkedIn is a bit of a pain, so I thought I’d try out the WordPress/Jetpack connecting tool. 2 days later, I disconnected it and went back to the previous way of doing things.

It saves me a few minutes each day at the cost of several hundred post views. LinkedIn doesn’t promote external links as much as ‘original’ content so the number of post impressions, views, and engagements dropped like a stone.

Yes, you can automate your processes, but you will be a servant to the algorithms of the hosts and platforms. When you’re doing this on your learning platforms, make sure you can control what is promoted, by who, and when.

As I’ve said before, you can’t automate nuance.
