More vs Better

I saw Seth Godin write a post with this title the other day and realised it’s where so many of us get it wrong in the learning space.

In-house and external teams are asked to provide better learning. We end up providing more learning. This is because we feel we need to introduce new channels, sponsors want something a little different from before, people are wedded to existing activities, and the belief that more must be better.

Less is more.

Take away the oversupply.

Revert to a demand-led model where you can work with people to help them learn, not for sponsors.

This is the essence of shopkeeper versus engineer. Be an engineer.
