Young and luck

I’m very lucky right now to be doing some work with a group of very new employees. They’re all relatively young and recent graduates.

They’re not embedded in workplace practices and have both the youth, and the luck, to be able to ask frighteningly difficult yet obvious questions.

Questions like:

  • How do I learn enough of what I need to know?
  • Where is the best place to find out what stuff really works?
  • If some of this stuff isn’t essential, why are we doing it?

The way you respond to these questions will make a lasting impact. The way you lead a group like this can also have a similar impact.

How are you responding to these kinds of questions? And if not, why not?
