Ai, Ai, Ai

So AI is going to be the saviour of learning. Adapting and responding to individuals, it will deliver personalised support to people at the point of need.

But here’s a thing.

We already have AI, and it sometimes doesn’t work very well.

Yesterday I typed bext instead of next in a document. Word’s spellcheck suggested the following alternatives:

  • best
  • bet
  • beat
  • belt
  • bent

All the above are 2 letter changes rather than the 1 which is required. And of the 1 change required,  the b is next to n on the keyboard.

If AI can’t do this simple thing right, when will people trust it for more than this?
