I have 2 pairs of black socks – one thin, one thick.
Every other pair I have are coloured. They’re plain and bright – pink and red are favourite colours. If they’re patterned they’re striped, again in bright colours.
I don’t have a uniform but accept that I am perceived as a member of a specific tribe based on what I wear. My socks mean I stand out, albeit in a discreet way.
Even if you’re being asked to provide something uniform, make sure it respects the individual.
