With the Coronavirus outbreak, there’s been a substantial promotion of handwashing.
I’ve mentioned supporting compliance before and the advertising campaigns hit all three elements of the AAA approach:
- Awareness – why handwashing is important, why soap is just as effective as cleansers
- Acquisition – the right way to wash your hands, the 20 second approach
- Application – people telling stories of handwashing in public spaces, shaming of people who aren’t hand washing
It’s just in time, just enough content which relies on social sharing; the different songs to wash your hands to now range from Happy Birthday, through the UK National Anthem to Dancing Queen, Metallica, and Jolene.
