Here are 140 services that were going to change the way we used Twitter. A brief saunter through the list and I can’t find a single one still in existence.

The creators, marketeers, investors and contributors probably thought they had the next big thing. Their biggest mistake was not realising that Twitter was the next big thing and it was going to eat them up.

Is your next big thing REALLY yours, or is it riding on the coattails of something else? If it’s not yours, can you trust that it’ll still be going in 12 months’ time, let alone 12 years?
