Fine line

There’s a fine line between having all the facts and taking too long. This is why we sometimes have to make assumptions .

Make sure that you’re not using the wrong assumptions though – anything to do with people shouldn’t be assumed and it’s always worth understanding the facts about others.

So project manage your research and fact-finding stage. Work out how long you need to spend on this before you move on, and try if possible to adhere to your self-imposed timetable. Peer review has a place here too – if someone has set an afternoon aside to examine your work, you really want and need to have it ready !

I find that I need the pressure of a deadline, even a self-imposed one, to actually complete my task.
