I’m not on Facebook. Notwithstanding how they capture, store, and share data, I don’t see the need to want to know what friends of friends are interested in.

The same has been happening recently to LinkedIn.

As I make new connections, my timeline immediately fills with comments, shares and upvotes for things that exist outside of professional networking.

Balancing authenticity and informality with professional responsibility is complicated and something we should all take care with.
