I saw Elton John the other day on his farewell tour. I’ve never seen him live and he was excellent.

At an appropriate time he introduced the band who were playing with him. They are all veterans, having spent years with Elton John as both session musicians and his touring band.

He thanked them and said he was so appreciative of them because they ‘made him play better, they made him sing better’.
